Cut Finger

When Grandma was little, her parents had to travel somewhere, and she and her siblings were told not to touch a broken window. While her parents were gone it started to rain and the rain was coming in through the broken window, so Grandma tried to close the window. While trying to close it she cut her finger, she was afraid that she would get in trouble so she was trying to bandage her finger, her younger sister Pat decided that she could probably fix her finger if she used the sewing machine. Aunt Pat almost had Grandma convinced to sew her finger together when their parents came home.

Running Home

When Grandma was little, because she had so many brothers and sisters, they all had to play together and work on the farm. When they got bored playing with each other, and their father had gone to work , they would walk through the field to the church and play with the other kids there, when they heard their father's truck coming they would run back through the field and sit on the porch before he got home, so they wouldn't get in trouble.

How Grandma and Grandpa Met

Grandma and her cousin decided to go out dancing, they both told their parents that they were staying the night at each others houses. When they went to the dance hall Grandma met Grandpa, he was four years older then her. He was just getting ready to go to join the war in Europe, but promised he would write.

While he was in Europe, he wrote to Grandma and he named his jeep Dear Al. When he returned from war they got married.
